Hot Potato Thrift started from a seed planted by my grandmother twenty years ago. Her love for thrifting grew into a branching, shared past time with her granddaughters. Over the years, thrifting has become much more than a hobby. It's an avenue to new beginnings, a sensation of peace and excitement simultaneously. It's a hunt, wading through hordes of yet to be discovered treasure, a nod to nostaglia, a memory of good times collecting dust and waiting to be uncovered again.

The very store where the items were housed became a place of peace. I made a point of remembering the earthy smell of old books and leather, the enclosing mountains of clutter that lended to a feeling of security. And so thrifting is not only a pass time, but an experience.
